October  2014 Prayer Letter

Hello Friends, Greetings in the Name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ,
The month of October has swiftly gone by. We had the blessing of ministering in three churches; Faith Baptist Church in Madison Heights, VA, Valley View Baptist Church in Buchannan, VA and Cornerstone Baptist Church in Tyro, VA.  We visited three other churches and set up future appointments to share our ministry.  One of the events of the month was the opportunity I had to witness to a Moslem on the internet. The man was very critical of Christians and America. We corresponded for several days and I do hope the seed was planted.
During the month, we have made several visits to the doctor for checkups and I had my hand operated on for trigger finger. We had planned to be In Guatemala and the Philippians during the month of October and November, but do to Susan’s mother being sick and she is 89 we believed it best to stay here in America. We have changed the Guatemala trip to February of 2015.  Philippines will be later in the year.
This month we have also did some repair work on the coach. We had the captain chairs re-upholstered and our yearly service scheduled in December.  This month, (November) we have several meetings and we will finish the year out with our last meeting December 8, 2014. We will have been in fifty churches traveling over twenty-five thousand miles.  By the grace of God, twenty-one people have come to know Christ and several hundred have rededicated there life to Christ. We have ministered to over twenty thousand people by his grace and mercy and your prayers and financial support have guided us through the hand of God. I finished up and published three books this year: Proverbs Book IV, Let’s Go Soul Winning and Keturah.  I also stared working on Ecclesiasts a book I started a few years ago.  We have participated in three mission conferences, two veterans meetings and three gospel concerts on military bases.  I have held several Islamic teaching conference and Prophecy Conferences.  The five tapes (DVD) on Islam are now available. You can purchase it for $25.00 by contacting me or through Pay Pal. You do this through our web site: www.hiswordoftruth.com
Our 2015 schedule is coming together and we just have a few dates open into April.  If you are in South Carolina, or Georgia I have New Year’s Eve open and the first Sunday in January. I would love to come, preach, and sing for you. Several years ago, we would start the New Year off with a revival. It was a positive time and we always witnessed people coming to Christ.  Pray about it. Please check out our updated web site at www.hiswordoftruth.com We love all of you and thank you for your prayers and financial support.

Our Goals for 2015: 1. To get our support level up so we can do more work for the Lord. We need twenty churches at $50.00 a month to reach our goal. 2. To finish two books and minister in three countries Guatemala, Ukraine and Philippines. 3. To have the book “Let’s Go Soul Winning published in Spanish and Tagola.

Sex and Stealing

Proverbs 6:29-30 (KJV)
29 So he that goeth in to his neighbour's wife; whosoever toucheth her shall not be innocent.
30 Men do not despise a thief, if he steal to satisfy his soul when he is hungry;

We need to note the distinction Scripture makes in verse 29: both the man who has sexual relations with another man’s wife and the man who touches another man’s wife will be punished. In other words, people who engage in a close intimate relationship of touching are still guilty of adultery even if they come short of the full sexual act. Some people caught in adultery claim, “We did not have sex (intercourse).” But this verse teaches that simply not having sex does not vindicate people from being guilty of adultery. They will not escape the punishment for this sin.
Having affairs in today’s society seems to be accepted. All one has to do is watch the television set during the day with all the soap operas and you will see the ultimate in wife swapping, cheating on your wife or husband. The nightly shows are not much different. Sex once was a bedroom word now has become the subject of most programming today. Marriage once was sacred but in the times we live it is an option that one takes after having several children or not at all.

Solomon proceeds to contrast the sin of adultery to another of the Ten Commandments: stealing (vv. 30-31). He describes a man who is hungry (ra’eb)—famished, at the point of starvation—who steals to sustain his life. Usually, people do not condemn this person for such a crime. They understand the desperation of the situation and have compassion on him. If the legal authorities catch the man, the courts will usually not punish him to the full extent of the law. However, neither will they simply excuse him. In ancient times, if the man was caught he had to make restitution. Indeed, he had to repay seven times what he stole—even if it took everything, he had.
A young woman was soaking up the sun's rays on a Florida beach when a little boy in his swimming trunks, carrying a towel, came up to her and asked her, "Do you believe in God?" She was surprised by the question but replied, "Why, yes, I do." Then he asked her: "Do you go to church every Sunday?" Again, her answer was "Yes!" Then he asked: "Do you read your Bible and pray every day?" Again, she said, "Yes!" But by now her curiosity was very much aroused. At last the lad sighed and said, with obvious relief, "Will you hold my quarter while I go in swimming?"

Someone asked me why I stand on the KJV. I am sure I could give you good Biblical reasons for my stand. This morning I would like to give you a humanistic reason. When you are old change does not come easy and if you have seen what change is doing to society; how it is not making things better, WHY CHANGE? I will not go as far as some go when they say, "The KJV was good enough for Paul so it is good enough for me." Now that is a lie.. for the KJV was not around when Saint Paul lived. Now you might want to argue with me over the above statement, let me warn you, I am like rock that cannot be moved... for my rock is Jesus Christ.
